Carlo W. Colesanti
President & Chief Executive Officer
Carlo came to the Company from Nexcore Technology, which he joined in 2015 as President & COO, and in 2017 he was promoted to President & CEO. He then led the acquisition and integration of Phase 2 Medical Manufacturing and subsequently launched the new brand NextPhase Medical Devices LLC.
He has a distinguished 25-year record of successfully growing both private-equity-backed and public companies across a variety of industries and geographies. He has worked in the medical device, drug delivery, specialty chemical, and management consulting industries. On four separate occasions, Carlo has successfully transformed companies and delivered maximal value to shareholders.
He has previously served as CEO of Agilex Flavors & Fragrances and of Verion, and as Managing Director of Bush Boake Allen Europe and of Ascendant Growth Partners. Earlier, he held positions as Division President at Cultor, Vice President & General Manager at Pfizer, and Vice President, Sales & Marketing at Crompton & Knowles.
Carlo earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Rhode Island, and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
James V. DiVizio, CPA
Sr. Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Jim came to the Company from Nexcore Technology, which he joined in 2015 as Vice President, Finance and was promoted to his current role in 2017. He has over 25 years of experience and is adept at evolving and driving strategic vision in both private-equity and corporate environments.
Jim is a leader with demonstrated ability to prioritize complex projects in all facets of financial and change management while improving both financial and operating performance.
Previously, he served in various private-company CFO roles and was a Partner at Ernst & Young, where he worked for 20 years and directed client engagements from $20 million to $10 billion, focusing on manufacturing and consumer product businesses.
Jim graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Robert A. Olsen
Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Rob came to the Company in 2017 from Nexcore Technology with more than 25 years of experience in the medical device outsourcing industry. Most of his experience has been focused on business development across a broad spectrum of electronic and disposable medical devices, where he has developed and executed sales and marketing strategies that have led to significant growth.
Rob’s previous role was at Vention Medical, where as Vice President, Business Development he led a team responsible for identifying, securing, growing, and retaining business that helped create substantial value and resulted in a successful exit event for shareholders.
Earlier, he served as Vice President, Business Development at Flextronics International, and as Director, Business Development at Nypro.
Rob holds a B.S. in Engineering from Boston University and an MBA from Nichols College.
Sr. Vice President & Chief Lean Officer
Adam joined the Company in 2017 after leading a successful exit event for shareholders of Phase 2 Medical Manufacturing. He is responsible for leading the Company’s focus in LEAN systems and related sustainable continuous improvement efforts.
He joined Phase 2 Medical Manufacturing in 1998 and became President one year later. Through the ongoing adoption of LEAN manufacturing and related techniques, Adam and the team transformed the fledgling company from a nonscalable business into a prominent medical device contract manufacturer.
Under his leadership, revenue and profit significantly increased, scalable operational systems were developed, a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility was established in Mexico, and the first injection molding capability was realized.
Adam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from St. Lawrence University.
Sr. Vice President, Operations
Brenda joined the Company in 2017 as Vice President, Operations and most recently came from Phase 2 Medical Manufacturing, starting in 2014 as Director of Operations. She was promoted to her current role in 2018 and is responsible for overseeing the design, development, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Brenda has over 30 years of experience, including at large OEMs and contract manufacturers in the medical device, telecommunications, and high-performance computing industries.
Prior to Phase 2, she held leadership roles in Engineering, Operations, and Strategic Sourcing at Medtronic Advanced Energy and Salient Surgical. Earlier, she also worked for Mercury Computers, Celestica, Cisco Systems, and AT&T/Lucent in roles spanning the entire order fulfillment process.
Brenda’s education was received at Franklin Pierce University where she majored in Business.
Sr. Vice President, Human Resources
Karen joined the Company in 2018 and has 20+ years of Human Resources experience, with advanced expertise in change management, recruitment and employee relations.
In her most recent position as Vice President of Human Resources at Bottomline Technologies, Karen helped lead global initiatives targeted at maximizing the company’s customer focus, and expanding awareness and contribution at every level within the organization to increase customer delight and revenue attainment objectives.
Her previous experience includes the medical device manufacturing, banking, and financial services industries with Thermo Fisher Scientific, Smiths Medical ASD, Investors Bank and Trust, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Karen, a Pennsylvania native, has a B.S. degree in Humanities from Widener University.
Steven K. Johnian
Vice President of Engineering
Steven joined the Company in 2018 with a career spanning 35 years exclusively in medical device development and manufacturing in markets that include Cardiology, Gynecology, Neurology, Oncology and Orthopedics. He has held multiple leadership roles in Engineering, Program Management, Quality, and Operations.
Steven has worked at major medical device corporations including BARD, Medtronic, St. Jude and Philips as well as several start-up companies. His previous contract manufacturing experience was as the Director of Engineering at MedSource Technologies where he led a diverse group of engineers on multiple customer programs, including new product introductions, design changes of existing products, product transfers, and cost reductions.
In his most recent position at Philips Ultrasound, Steven brought both engineering and operational skills to successfully manufacture an industry leading intra-cardiac echocardiography catheter from a complex, three-continent supply chain.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University and is a Massachusetts native.
Vice President, Program Management & Product Development
SheShin comes to the Company from Nexcore Technology, which she joined in 2004, and has held a variety of roles, including Research Engineer, Project Manager, and Director, Program Management and Product Development.
She has a deep understanding of the entire EMS medical device product life-cycle spectrum from development, manufacturing, aftermarket services, and sustaining engineering.
With a focus on program management and support, SheShin ensures the proper execution of all programs and that they are achieved efficiently and deliver superior quality products.
Earlier experiences included roles at Integrated Solutions and BEA Systems, where SheShin helped to develop software for the U.S. Army and also at Kodak Polychrome in both the United States and China.
SheShin graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering.
Vice President, Strategic Initiatives
Bill joined the Company in 2017 and most recently came from Phase 2, which he joined in 2009 as Controller. He was promoted to Director of Finance and later to Vice President, Finance where he provided financial leadership for the Company.
He has 30 years of experience with manufacturing companies, the last 14 years spent with contract manufacturers of medical devices, where he has developed a deep understanding of the industry.
Bill’s current focus is to help shape and facilitate the management process of the Company and to provide business expertise and management for initiatives critical to success.
Earlier, he was the Controller at Accellent and J-Pac after serving in several finance roles in companies as diverse as MIT venture-backed startups, Amberwave Systems, and Tyco.
Bill holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration/Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University.
